Oscar Real: Cinematography, Film Editing & Visual Effects

Only 8 days until showtime and they couldn’t come fast enough. Luckily we are blazing through our nomination breakdown, as we start to branch into some very important categories.

On the menu today, Cinematography, Film Editing and Visual Effects. All three can make or break your film.

And the nominees are…

Best Cinematography

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

The Hurt Locker

Inglourious Basterds

The White Ribbon

Bottomline: ‘The Hurt Locker’. Why? Because you felt like you were in it. The cinematography, in my opinion, was what made the film so gripping.

Film Editing

District 9

The Hurt Locker

Inglourious Basterds

Precious: Based on the Novel PUSH by Sapphire

Bottomline: Once again…’The Hurt Locker.’

Visual Effects

District 9

Star Trek

Bottomline: Really? Why are there even two other nominees in this category?
