Tom Hanks unveils “Crowne” Cast via Twitter

Leave it to Tom Hanks to use the power of social networking to his own advantage. On Friday he cut out the middle man and revealed a good chunk of the cast on Twitter for his upcoming comedy “Larry Crowne.”

Check out the photo here.

The casting board featured photos of  George Takei, Taraji P.Henson, Cedric the Entertainer, Jon Seda, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Peter Scolari, Wilmer Valderama,  Grace Gummer (Meryl Streep’s daughter) and a few others. Hanks will also direct and star in the film alongside Julia Roberts.

“Larry Crowne” was co-written by Hanks and Nia Vardalos and tells the story of middle-aged man who is forced to find a new career.

I’m sure there is more casting news to come, as Tom tweeted that the list was “incomplete” but so far the talent is amazing and the fact that Tom Hanks is behind the whole thing is a plus. I still swoon every time I watch “That Thing You Do.”
