Will Smith in "I Am Legend"

  • Will Smith reportedly turned down the opportunity to play Marvin Gaye; a film that has been secretly developing for three years behind the doors of Cameron Crowe’s office.   I guess after “Ali” and that “Pursuit of Happyness” guy, he’s over the biopic genre. [Variety]
  • Reported on April Fools day–so take this with the smallest grain of salt–Academy Award nominees Carey Mulligan and Saoirse Ronan are in talks to star in Geoffrey Fletcher’s  “Violet & Daisy.”  If the rumor is found to be true this will be Fletcher’s directorial debut. [Slash Film]
  • Megan Fox has been offered the role of Red Sonja, the Robert Rodriguez remake that was meant to star his ex Rose McGowan. Somewhere she’s pissed and formulating a plan to orb into Fox’s living quarters, and cast a spell to make Transformer’s 3 ridiculously bad…oh wait…[Film Shaft]
  • Peter Sollet (the guy who directed Nick & Norah’s…you know the rest) is slated to direct another comic book movie. This will be his first comic book adaptation on record but in recent weeks we’ve had an overload. Anyway, it’s “The Runaways” and no not the Kristen Stewart movie but Marvel’s comic about teenage superheroes. [Deadline]
  • For those who care, The Smurfs started production in New York.  Yep. That’s all. Oh and Anton Yelchin and Fred Armisen have been added to the voice cast. [Collider]
  • Who needs news when you have Twitter?  Gregory Littley, brand consultant, revealed that “Thor” press stills would be released on May 5th.  [Twitter]

I am looking forward to the Thor stills. I am really looking forward to this film.

I don’t want to see Megan Fox in anything again, lol I saw the 2 Transformers films with my Nephew and they were fun but this girl cannot act, in my opinion.

    Thanks for Reel News!
