Will Bill Condon direct “Breaking Dawn?”

According to a very recent post by Deadline, that’s the word around Hollywood.

If you remember from a previous post, Condon was one of three directors on a pre-approved list by Summit and Twilight author Stephanie Meyer. The other two directors were Sofia Coppola and Gus Van Sant.

Well somewhere between then and now, Condon become the number one choice and is reportedly in talks to seal the deal. Nothing has been signed but according to Deadline the negotiations are leaning in that direction.

“Breaking Dawn” is scheduled to start shooting in the fall, and the final outcome will be two films shot back to back.

In my opinion, Condon is a very credible choice and could help the Twilight series reach a critical destination beyond its wildest dreams. Actually any of the above mentioned directors  could achieve that goal, but Condon brings a little bit more pizzaz to the table.  Condon is very versatile and by hiring him it seems that Summit is ready to take the Twilight franchise to another level.

I’m excited and hoping that this rumor has legs.

Keep it locked here for updates.
