Tribeca Film Festival: Opening Day

Opening day at the Tribeca Film Festival kicked off last night with the premiere of ‘Shrek Forever After.’ Mike Meyers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy and Antonio Banderas were all on hand to bid a final farewell to the beloved Ogre.

‘Shrek Forever After’ is the final film from the unlikely team who first made us double over in laughter a decade ago, and some of them are having a hard time saying goodbye.  “I haven’t quite accepted it yet. It’s been there for the last 10 years,” Cameron Diaz, voice of Princess Fiona, told Sky News. “So it’s been something that I’m just now realizing, like, ‘Oh my God, we are actually, this is it.’ And it’s a little weepy, I have to say.”

In the fourth and final installment of ‘Shrek’ audiences will find the Ogre in the throes of a mid-life crisis, and in effort to climb out of his funk he makes a deal that goes extremely bad with Rumpelstiltskin. Of course, Shrek-like drama ensues and you can catch it all in 3D when it hits theaters on May 21.
