Matthew Vaugh set to direct ‘X-Men: First Class’

Now is the perfect time to deem next summer the ‘Summer of Superheroes’, because Matthew Vaughn is the latest director to sign on to comic book project.  Just announced yesterday, the ‘Kick-Ass’ director will take over the directing duties for ‘X-Men: First Class’, which will hit theaters next summer.

Matthew Vaughn joins an impressive group of directors who have previously directed the X-Men films, such as Brian Singer (X-Men, X2), Bret Ratner (X-Men: The Last Stand) and Gavin Hood (X-Men Origins: Wolverine).

No word on when production will start on ‘X-Men: First Class’, but I’m sure it’s right around the corner.
