Paul W.S. Anderson scores a pretty awesome cast for his ‘Three Musketeers’ movie

There are currently two ‘Musketeer’ films in the works, but director Paul W.S. Anderson has raised the bar with the announcement of his stellar cast.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Anderson has tapped Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson & The Olympians) to play D’Artagnan and Ray Stevenson, Matthew McFayden and Luke Evans, to portray Porthos, Athos and Aramis, respectively.

Unfortunately the musketeers themselves aren’t the stellar part of the casting process, it’s the antagonist that will have movie goers lined up at the box office.  The villains include Academy Award winner Christoph Waltz as Cardinal Richelien, Mads Mikkelsen as Rochefort and Milla Jovovich as Milady de Winter.  Orlando Bloom, who surprisingly hasn’t been in much lately, is also expected to portray the Duke of Buckingham.

Production on ‘The Three Musketeers’ will begin in September,  and the film will follow the 3D trend that’s taken over Hollywood in recent months.

As for Anderson— judging by his resume I would have gone with another director, but with a cast this talented it would be nearly impossible to mess this up. Right?

Doug Liman (director of the other Musketeers movie), its your ball now.
