Weekend Box Office: June 18-20, 2010

What an incredible weekend at the box office.  I was able to enjoy two fantastic movies this weekend, while also spending some quality time with my dad.  Hopefully y’all had a great weekend too.

Let’s get right down to business— here’s your weekend box office

1. Toy Story 3

2. The Karate Kid

3. The A-Team

4. Get Him to The Greek

5.  Shrek Forever After

6. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

7. Killers

8. Jonah Hex

9. Iron Man 2

10. Marmaduke

Is it really any surprise what the number one film in America was?  ‘Toy Story 3’ blew its competition out of the water with a $109 million weekend, making the release Pixar’s biggest opening ever.  Quite fitting since the original ‘Toy Story’ was the film that made Pixar famous.

Coming in at number two was ‘The Karate Kid’  and ‘Shrek Forever After’ rounded out the top five.   And as ‘Toy Story 3’ burned up the box office, ‘Jonah Hex’ bombed…hard.  The film had a beyond disappointing debut, landing in the number eight spot and barley beating ‘Marmaduke’, which rounded out the top 10.

Out this week:  Grown Ups  and Knight & Day (Wednesday release)
