‘Bond 23’ is wrap (and not in a good way)

Summer school is finally OVER, but  that’s not the only thing that came to a grinding halt this week.

According the Total Film and other news outlets, ‘Bond 23’ is officially canceled.  This news should come as a shock to no one considering MGM’s highly publicized financial issues over the last few months; not to mention Sam Mendes stepping down as director because of the delay.

No word yet on if ‘Bond 23’ will be picked up by another studio, but it sure is a shame that it had to go out this way because it’s definitely of no fault of its own.  In the meantime, we can all wait around and see if ‘The Hobbit’ will suffer the same fate.

This is too bad. I loved Casino Royale and was hoping that this next one would bring it back from Quantum of Solice.

I’m not a die hard 007 fan but I really liked Daniel Craig as Bond.

    • I do too. Hopefully either MGM gets their finances together or another studio purchases the rights to the Bond series. I think it would be a good investment for any studio.

So do I. I can’t imagine any studio not thinking that it’s a good idea. The only problem I see is if they don’t have good writers and they mess up the 007 franchise.

Maybe they should wait a year or two, we seem to be having a pretty slow summer in movies so far (Not counting Toy Story 3 and Twilight, ugh, Twilight, lol). I think Inception will boost this lull and bring back the Summer Blockbuster.

Did you see the building sized Inception poster in NY?
