Edward Norton is ‘The Hulk’ no more

In an interesting turn of events, it was reported this weekend that Edward Norton was asked politely not to resume his post as ‘The Hulk’ in the forthcoming ‘Avengers’ movie.  Why? Rumor has it that Norton is a difficult one on set, but here’s what Marvel had to say about the decision:

“Our decision is definitely not one based on monetary factors, but instead rooted in the need for an actor who embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members.”

Translated: We need someone who isn’t a diva and who will get along with the other cast members.

Word around town is that Joaquin Phoenix is being courted to take over the role, which would do wonders for his career after his recent antics; but for now we’ll just all have to play another round of the guessing game.

Which leading man would you like to see take over the Incredible Hulk role?

I have been reading this as it unfolded. Did you see Edwards response via his FB page?

I have heard many times that he is hard to work with, Unless we are a fly on the wall, right? = )

I really enjoyed him in the Hulk and I wish he could have returned. I have no idea who I would want to see in the role. If Bruce Banner isn’t going to be in it much, from what I have read (Hulk will be seen most) then putting an unknown that fits the character would be good.

Who do you see in the roll?

    • Honestly, they could just bring Eric Bana back for all I care. Lol. Like you said, most of it will be CGI anyway– so no need in wasting too much time and effort finding a proper replacement.

I did see his FB page, and I can also understand Marvel’s decision to not have him come back aboard. I mean, they are working with some huge stars on this Avengers movie and one bad apple (Norton) could indeed spoil the bunch.
