Weekend Box Office: September 24-26, 2010

Happy Monday to everyone out there!  It’s time for the usual Monday morning dose of the box office happenings, here’s what went down this weekend:

1. Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps

2. Legend of the Guardian: The Owls of Ga’Hoole

3. The Town

4. Easy A

5. You Again

6. Devil

7. Resident Evil: Afterlife

8. Alpha and Omega

9. Takers

10. Inception

Oliver Stone’s Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, the long-awaited follow-up to 1987’s Wall Street, claimed the top prize this weekend despite having mixed reviews, while Legends of the Guardians trailed closely behind at number two. Ben Affleck’s ‘The Town,’ which continued to generate buzz, held court in the number three spot and Easy A  finished its sophomore weekend  in fourth place bringing its total gross to $32.8M. Not a bad two weeks for a comedy starring a relatively unknown female lead. Too bad the same can’t be said for Kristen Bell’s ‘You Again’, which rounded out the top five.  Inception rounded out the top 10.
