Weekend Box Office: October 15-17,2010

Happy Monday everyone!  Sorry for the lack of updates in the past few weeks, its been busy on my end with school, work and everything in between but graduation is quickly approaching and it will come just in time for the chaos of awards season.  With that being said, here’s your weekend box office:

1. Jackass 3D

2. Red

3. The Social Network

4. Secretariat

5. Life as We Know It

6. Legends of the Guardian

7. The Town

8. My Soul to Take

9. Easy A

10. Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps

In a surprising turn of events, ‘Jackass 3-D’ managed to beat out both ‘Red’ and ‘The Social Network’ to claim the number one spot.  The film opened with $50 million becoming the all-time highest grossing fall weekend debut since 2003’s  “Scary Movie 3.”   And this my friends is “exhibit A”  of why we need to do away with 3-D!

‘Red’ managed to open strong in the number two spot, while ‘The Social Network’ fell to third place with $11 million. ‘Secretariat’ and ‘Life as We Know It’ rounded out the top five.  ‘Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps’ completed the top 10.
