Mel Gibson dumped from ‘The Hangover 2’

…because no one wants to be around a guy who can’t handle his liquor. Ultimate party foul.

According to Thompson on Hollywood, Warner Bros. decided to drop Mel Gibson from the film due to protests from the cast and crew of the film.  Director Todd Phillips had this to say about the decision:

I thought Mel would have been great in the movie and I had the full backing of Jeff Robinov and his team. But I realize filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew.

Although Gibson’s role was supposed to be a brief cameo, it’s completely understandable why everyone wouldn’t be on board.  You win some, you lose some Mel.

It’s not really a surprise, he hasn’t been the most stable or likable person in recent years. It’s really too bad, he’s a good actor.
