Weekend Box Office: December 3-5, 2010

Happy Monday Movie Lovers!!!

We’re reaching the final few weeks of 2010 and with 10 days till graduation, 19 days till  Christmas and 25 days until 2011— I couldn’t be a happier camper.  Here’s hoping that everyone has a great holiday season, while also taking in some awesome year-end movies like Black Swan, True Grit, Tron Legacy Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader and The Fighter.

Weekend Box Office

1. Tangled

2. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1

3. Burlesque

4. Unstoppable

5. Love and Other Drugs

6. Megamind

7. Due Date

8. Faster

9. The Warrior’s Way

10. The Next Three Days

This weekend welcomed only one new release, The Warrior’s Way, which opened up to a disappointing $3.03M. Why is was this so disappointing? One could blame poor promotion— I didn’t know the film existed until Thursday—but then you’d have to explain Black Swan opening on a measly 18 screens and scoring a box office total of $1.3M.

Tangled wrestled the top spot away from Harry Potter over weekend, bringing the film’s total gross to $96.4M. A nice take away for Disney’s final animated princess movie.  Love and Other Drugs rounded out the top 5, and The Next Three Days completed the top 10.

Out this week: The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader and The Tourist.
