The King’s Speech director wins at the DGA Awards

…and that my friends is a Harvey Weinstein awards season campaign at its finest moment. Mere hours ago, novice director Tom Hooper was presented with the golden plaque for Outstanding Directorial Achievement, besting his more seasoned, more daring, and for the most part more deserving competition which included Darren Aronofsky, David Fincher , Christopher Nolan and David O. Russell.

There are no words.

What does this mean? Simply put, it means the awards season is officially over and unless by some act of God, The Social Network (or  any best picture nominee) can pull a Crash like miracle, The King’s Speech is your Best Picture winner. Congrats to Tom Hooper, the cast and crew and The Weinstein Company.
