Warner Bros. to remake The Bodyguard

This is officially the remakes to end all remakes!  Apparently, the good folks over at Warner Bros. went through their film rolodex and/or played a game of eenie meenie, miney moe, and decided that the 1992 global hit The Bodyguard deserved the reboot treatment.

I know, its hard to believe that the film which featured a god awful performance (vocals aside) by Whitney Houston could be a global hit, but the film in fact earned a whooping $411 million, making it the highest grossing film for Warner Bros. at the time.

The studio has hired Jeremiah Friedman and Nick Palmer to pen the script, whose credits include a spot on the coveted 2010 Black List for their script Family Getaway.

No word yet on who will fill the vocal shoes of Houston, but I think its safe to say that Hollywood has officially hit rock bottom.

  1. *blank stare.* this can’t possibly be any worse than the first one. But, the thing is, it really can.

  2. *blink* *blink* No thanks, I’ll pass. Especially if they decide that either Beyonce or Rihanna is perfect for the role.
