Rachel Weisz to star alongside Franco and Kunis in ‘Oz: The Great and Powerful’

Oscar winner Rachel Weisz will portray Evanora in Sam Raimi’s Oz: The Great and Powerful.  Deadline reported last night that she is in talks to play opposite Mila Kunis’ Theodora, which is a great pull considering both actresses will now cancel out James Franco, who seems to be stretching himself way too thin nowadays and getting on my last nerve.

Personally, I was still holding a torch for Weisz to be the villian in Bond 23, which reportedly went to Anthony Hopkins, but I guess since her new boo Daniel Craig is Bond himself, everyone involved probably wanted to avoid the possibility of having a Gigli on their hands. That’s never a good look.

Speaking of Craig, Weisz is scheduled to appear with her beau in Dream House later this year.  Production on Oz: The Great and Powerful begins this summer.
