Bryan Cranston set to play villain in ‘Total Recall’ remake

What’s the quickest way to sell an audience on a Total Recall reboot? Announce Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston as the villain, which is exactly what Columbia Pictures had up their sleeve  when they revealed the news yesterday evening.

The Emmy award winner will be portraying the character Vilos Cohaagen,  who was once portrayed by Ronny Cox in the original 1990 flick starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. With Colin Farrell already signed on to fill Schwarzenegger’s shoes as Douglas Quaid, the next step is finding two ladies for the roles of Lori and Melina. Word on the street is that Diane Kruger and Kate Bosworth are being considered for the former, while Jessica Biel, Paula Patton and Eva Mendes are reading for the latter.

Consider my interest peaked.  Filming is scheduled to begin in a few weeks with Len Wisemen behind the lens.
